Overview
Pokémon Go is a popular gaming app played by people all around the world and from ages that range from young children to adults. The game delivers a combination of nostalgia and fun that keeps users hooked on their Pokémon trainer adventure. I chose to design feature concepts for this game that I felt would help reduce “clicks” and make finding nearby Pokéstops easier. The design is a “Pokéstop Map” and a “heal all” button that would essentially use the amount of healing items necessary to heal all injured Pokémon at once.
The features I decided to implement were:
1. Pokéstop Map:
The Pokéstop map would be a new feature that players could access from the main menu. It would show a visual representation of all the Pokéstops in their immediate area, as well as the distance to each one. This would eliminate the need for players to constantly switch back and forth between the map and the list view to find nearby Pokéstops. By tapping on a Pokéstop on the map, players would be able to quickly access its details and spin the disc to receive items.
2. Heal All Button:
Currently, players need to heal each of their Pokémon individually using potions and revives. This can be a tedious process, especially if you have a lot of fainted or injured Pokémon. The heal all button would allow players to heal all of their Pokémon at once, using the necessary amount of healing items to fully restore each Pokémon's health. This would save players time and clicks, making it easier to get back into battles and raids quickly.
Implementing these two new features would streamline the gameplay experience, encouraging players to continue exploring and collecting without getting bogged down by the repetitive process of healing and finding Pokéstops.
